KCET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of KCET is as follows-

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India along with a domicile of Karnataka

Education Qualification

The education qualification of the candidates depends on the courses. The following are the educational qualification required by the candidates-

Engineering Courses (B.Tech or B.E)

Candidates should have completed their higher secondary /PUC with at least 45% marks and 40% for those who belong to SC and ST categories in subjects such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, and Biology.

Medical Courses (MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BUMS, and BHMS)

Candidates should have done Higher Secondary/PUC with at least 50% and 40% for those who belong to SC/ST categories in the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

B.Pharm

Candidates should have done Higher Secondary/PUC with at least 45% marks and 40% for those who belong to SC/ST categories in the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

B.Arc

Candidates should have done Higher Secondary/PUC with at least 50% marks and 40% for those who belong to SC/ST categories with Mathematics as one of the subjects

B.V.Sc & A.H

Candidates should have done Higher Secondary/PUC with at least 50% marks and 40% for those who belong to SC/ST categories with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Agriculture

Candidates should have done Higher Secondary/PUC with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

D-pharmacy

Candidates should have done Higher Secondary/PUC with at least 45% marks or else diploma in pharmacy.

KCET Admission Process

The Application form of BCECE can be filled online. The following are the steps by step application process-

  • Visit the official website of the KCET- www.kea.kar.nic.in
  • Click on the ‘New Candidate Registration’ and start filling in the required details like email ID password etc.
  • Now, verify the email by clicking on the verification link send by Karnataka CET
  • Now, Log in to your account and click on the apply button
  • A form will appear, fill the form with correct information
  • Now upload your scanned passport size photograph
  • Now you have to upload the scanned copy of all the certificates and documents mentioned below
  • Now a payment gateway will open where you have to pay the application fee using Credit/Debit, UPI, Net Banking, or challan
  • Take a printout of the payment confirmation slip and the application for future uses

KCET Examination Pattern

The Mode of the exam is Offline pen and paper-based. A total of 320 minutes will be provided and the candidate has to solve 240 questions. For each correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark and there are no negative marks. The following are the examination pattern of KCET-

KCET Counselling

A counseling session will be organized for the candidates who have qualified for the entrance examination. Based on the merit list, the candidates will be offered different colleges to choose from. You can choose the colleges based on your liking, fees, location, etc. when appearing for the counseling session of a particular college, the candidate must provide relevant documents in original as well as a printout.
