Eligibility Criteria for Rashtriya Military School

The Rashtriya Military School follows the eligibility conditions set by the authority. Find the details below:

• The school provides admission to only boys
• These boys must be the sons of Defence Personnel.
• Age Criteria: The class wise age of the boys applicants are as follows:
  • Class VI: 10-12 years as on March 2025
  • Class IX: 13-15 years as on 31 March 2025

Note: Six months age relaxation in the upper age limit for the wards of personnel Killed in Action.

Educational Qualification:

• Class VI: No previous educational qualification is compulsory.
• Class IX: To seek admission in Class IX, applicant must have cleared class VIII from the Government/recognized school before the last date.

Medical Examination:

The medical examination of the selected candidates will take place at the Military Hospitals nominated by the Director General of Medical Services before the admission and those who found medically fit will be given admission to the school.

Rashtriya Military School Result Announcement 2025 -2026

Those who clear Common Entrance Test will have their names in the merit list and these selected candidates will appear for interview at their respective Rashtriya Military Schools.

Seat Reservation:

Find the seat matrix given below:

• 70% for wards of JCOs/OR of Army, Navy and AF (including ex-servicemen)
• 30% for wards of officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired officers) and wards of civilians
• 50 seats are earmarked in Killed in Action category, in all five RMSs together, at any point of time

Note: 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved for SC/ST in all categories.
